An ACLU staffer wrote Amber Heard’s 2018 op-ed in the Washington Post pitching her as a “public figure representing domestic abuse” after she pledged to donate $3.5 million to the liberal activist group, emails shared in court by Johnny Depp’s legal team reveal.

From Fox News:
“I tried to gather your fire and rage and really interesting analysis and shape that into an op-ed form,” wrote ACLU communications strategist Robin Shulman in an email to Heard.
At least three other staffers were involved in drafting and revising the piece, testified ACLU COO Terence Dougherty in a pre-recorded deposition played in court Thursday.
Heard requested that the op-ed be published shortly after the release of her movie “Aquaman” to capitalize on the publicity, Dougherty testified.
He also revealed that Heard had only paid $1.3 million of the $3.5 million she publicly pledged to donate to the charity.
The op-ed was published on December 18, 2018. Aquaman was released in the US on December 21, 2018.
Shulman’s op-ed was a truly depraved piece of vomit-inducing propaganda.
It was written to smear Depp without mentioning him explicitly to avoid legal liability, promote her movie and push the ACLU’s radical left-wing legislative agenda.
This is the type of crap the ACLU decided to work on full-time after completely abandoning their commitment to defending the First Amendment post-Charlottesville.
One might say they’ve truly sh*t the bed!
